How to Get Passport Appointment Online
If you want to travel outside your own country, the first thing that will be required of you is a passport. Applying can either be done online through the State Department website or at an acceptance facility where application fees vary based on location and type of passport needed; they even offer an interactive fee calculator on their site that helps users determine exactly how much will need to be paid out!
People living far from an acceptance facility or those without enough time may wish to apply by mail for their passports, although processing times can take slightly longer this way; you can check them on the State Department website.
When scheduling an online passport appointment, the following documents will need to be presented.
If renewing, bring along both the old passport and its photocopy. For new passport applications, valid forms of legal identification such as driver’s licenses issued by states or foreign passports will also be necessary.
As soon as you’ve filled out the form, click “Pay and Schedule Appointment.” After making payment for your appointment, print out your Application Receipt with your Appointment Reference Number or Appointment Number to take to a Passport Seva Kendra or Regional Passport Office with original documents in hand.
